It is with great pleasure that we invite you to take part in the 26th Kenya Society of Anaesthesiologists (KSA) and 6th Critical Care Society of Kenya (CCSK) Conference on 23rd-24th August 2018 at the Leisure Lodge Hotel, Diani; the preconference workshop is on 22nd August.

This annual gathering is the largest open scientific conference on anaesthesia and Critical care related issues in Kenya – bringing together a broad cross-section of more than 200 professionals from within the country and around the region to meet and discuss the state of anaesthesia, latest scientific developments in related research, with a focus on ensuring improvement of practice and not only development, but enactment of policy as well.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “Meeting Tomorrow’s Challenges Today”. This is in light of the recently launched National Anaesthesia Guidelines, increased sub specialization, increase in ICU number, limited resources and concept of virtual college- College of Anesthesiologists of East, Central and Southern Africa (CANECSA) as well as the wellbeing of practitioners, which all advised the theme.

The tracks will cover sessions in:

  • Obstetrics
  • Paediatrics
  • Perioperative Medicine
  • Research
  • Transplant Anaesthesia
  • Trauma

We will also have two pre-conference workshops, which will be confirmed soon.

There will also be plenty of networking opportunities and fora for engaging with all present. We invite submission of abstracts, in this regard.

CONFERENCE REGISTRATION FEE

The conference will offer 2 sets of interactive pre-conference workshops on 22nd August; 2 clinical workshops (limited slots) that will run in parallel in the morning (open to paid up delegates) and an afternoon session on wellness, on the same day (those who’ve paid for the morning workshop are exempted from paying for the afternoon session), seeking to address finance and medicolegal issues as well as work life balance.

EXHIBITION AREA

Exhibitors must register all staff and employees that will be working at the exhibit space. This includes exhibitors utilizing complimentary registrations; names must be submitted.

Canvassing or distributing advertising matter outside the exhibitor’s own booth is not permitted. Solicitation of business by non-exhibiting firms is prohibited. Photographing or examining another exhibitor’s equipment without permission is not allowed.

The floor plan(s) will be available in early 2017. The organizing committee reserves the right to make changes to the floor plan if necessary. Changes will not, however, be undertaken without prior discussion with the organization affected.

Allocation of Exhibition Space

Space Allocation will be made on a “first come, first served” basis. A completed application form accompanied by advance payment should be emailed / hand delivered to ensure reservation of a desired location.

Forms received without payment will not be processed. Forms received after the deadline 30th June 2017 will be charged the higher fee. Advance payment will be refunded if space is fully booked.
